Japanese Fender Serial Numbers

JV's weren't made in , that's when the A and E serial numbers started JV's ended in like late then the SQ serial numbers were after it If you have a pencilled neck date on the heel that reads , it's not a JV - probably someone passing it off as a JV for higher profit Guitarmageddon , Jun 16, That's what I thought. Just wanted to see what was up though! Rockape , Jun 16, I'm guessing this is an A series then with the made in Japan scraped off the back of the neck and the neck plate changed. The guitar I'm asking about isn't a Squier, it's a fender labeled guitar.

I did post the eBay link above for the unidentified one. There's no such thing as a Fender branded 'JV' serial Just managed to get a quick look: The decals are wrong for a JV. Shouldn't have a 'pat pend' addition to the OCB decal.
