If you like this guy then why would you let something this small get in the way? No its not weird and ok if he has the same name. I personally wouldn't judge a guy that much by his name. If you like him, go for it.

I've dated guys with the same name as my brother, and as weird as it gets, that's not the most important thing in a relationship. It's not like he is your dad, and it's all about whether you're comfortable with it or not. Think about this and then decided. You and the guy are together, one thing leads to another and you're in bed doing the deed and you call out "Bill" your dads name is bill. You're going to instantly think of your dad.
Just because it's awkward.. I havent dated anyone with the same name as my dad.
That up there is why. No, it's not weird because it happens all the time. But it is weird if you thinking of your father when you say the guys name.. Well, it is a little odd but you will get used to it. I once dated a guy with the same name as my little brother, and it wasn't too bad. Her sister then married a guy named Dave as well.

We sat down and went several generations back on our family trees to be sure that there was no relation, but we still took tons of crap for it, and occasionally we'd get asked if we were brother and sister!
