Matilda iv matchmaking

Does anyone else find that the Matilda is unfairly matched against tier 5 and tier 6 tanks way to often (i.e. > 70% of games)? I used to enjoy this tank, but when you find yourself in a game with just fellow tier 4 tanks and the rest are tier 5 and 6, it's just not enjoyable.

The Matilda IV I've had less good luck with, though I admit the gun is nice so perhaps I'm just not maximizing its worth yet. The downside to the Matilda II is that there have to be a lot of Tier 4 tank players online to be able to set up matches for you, since it is exclusively Tier 4. In my case, that's a good thing I suppose. The Valentine II is a fun little tank. Its kind of like a mini Matilda with a crappy gun. Players don't know where to shoot it so you get steel wall medals in half your games.

The big downside is you need to fire mostly premium ammunition in order to have a good game.

If you are playing to have fun and aren't worried about making lots of credits this tank is for you. Make sure you platoon only with other valentines or PZ B2s or else you could end up facing up to tier VI tanks. That won't end well. The Valentine II or Pz. But it's not really a fun ride IMO. Heck, maybe it'll get the TM treatment one of these days, though. I own both, though I only got the Valentine II from the marathon today and haven't tried it yet. While the Matilda IV is unpopular, I find myself to quite enjoy it.

It has very decent gun depression and the mantlet of the KV-1 in a Matilda turret, basically It allows for some nice trolling. That being said though, they're not the best tanks around. But for tier 4 and 5, they aren't exactly shabby either. I think I've bought like 5 Valentines for guys in my clan just so I can platoon with my B2.

Somethings off with the Matilda IV

They're just so cheap. They are not good, but I got them anyway for collection. I mean both at a price of 3 crewmen retrain, dirt cheap. If you think you'll be participating in Tank Rewards you could think of it as an investment. Buy the tanks while they're cheap and then try to earn them on Tank Rewards missions for the full value later on. That was my thought. Valentine… well, it has super pref MM, so it can plat with the B2.

It's got a weak gun, but good armour, but armour has a bit deprecated since the Valentine with the subsequent release of a ton of tier IV with good penetration. Matildas will terrify you even more than in a B2. Still, considering you're facing generally clueless oponents who may see a Vally for the first time, it can still club seals, I guess.

Matilda IV is slow as shit, but it has pref MM, and the armour somewhat still holds at this tier. Gun has anemic pen, but hilarious gun dep which combines well with the ok turret armour I had to flank an AT-2 once, because I couldn't pen it from the front even in the 2 weak spots. It must have been hilariously slow to watch. Matilda BP is even slower than the IV or has this been fixed?

It also suffers from a woefully inadequate ammo count, and turret is of the classical "unarmoured carton box" design, which makes your whole hull armour irrelevant. TLWiz, on Apr 02 - Other than that, it is an excellent gun platform. It will train your medium crews. The Rudy would be the best if it was available. The TM was recently buffed and is a slightly slower, tougher version of the Rudy and it trains 5 crew members instead of the Rudy's 4.

If it is really due back out, I'd wait for that. You can get a Matilda IV anytime. Community Forum Software by IP. Search Advanced Search section: Page 1 of 2 1 2 Next.

Matilda IV Patch 9.17 - Is it still worth it? World of Tanks

Am I missing something here? MasterMellow 2 Posted Apr 02 - I'm quite sure it gets pref MM. R2D 3 Posted Apr 02 - And tier 5 atm can only see top tier games vs tier 4 in games. So thus the tier 4 MM is changed a bit. Even so, the pen is more then enough for you to do well in a support role.

Matilda IV Matchmaking

Get the angle right and it's almost impossible for your enemy to scratch you and the high rate of fire is amazing. It's also fine against tier 5 light tanks but anything else, especially tier 6 tanks, there's just no point. My question is why am I being matched against these tiers so frequently these days? It's affecting my win rate and overall enjoyment with this tank. It just seems very unbalanced. Do any of you find this with the Matilda? Balc0ra, on 12 January - Thanks, that's good advice.

Welcome to Reddit,

Though, you can generally only play a second line role due to the Ferrari-like speed. I might start taking screen shots of what I come up against. But recently, it's literally 1 in 10 games where there are no tier 6 tanks for me. Remember that KV-1, that has conparable hull armour and is tier 5, has 1mm less pen than your matilda and see tier 7.

You probably just need some more experience to make it work propely. You may also enable replays recording and poste some of them here, so the more experienced player may give you some advice.
