I think Eric Elkins offers a fresh and hip outlook on how it looks and feels to date not only for one's self, but with the child in mind as well. The book is touching, funny, sweet, and at times sad. I expected something a little more "how-to" ish, but still liked the book overall. As a recently divorced father a resource like this is amazing. The author's personal frankness is refreshing, and it feels like a one on one conversation. Its just a nice comforting read that reminds you its going to be okay, you just gotta breath. I've been reading Eric's articles for quite some years now and enjoying his honest and funny comments on the dating scene for single dads.

It's become quite the favorite - as a single mother, I find it fascinating to see the other side of the dating scene and realize that men are just as nervous and vulnerable as us ladies. This Kindle book is a collection of some of Eric's best columns and I picked it up straight away as it's great reading material for journeys, etc. This edition would also make a great gift for any single dads out there.
The only thing I found slightly annoying is that the formatting was just slightly off on some pieces - not to make it unreadable but just enough to break the flow. However, it's still a great book and one I'd recommend to all. I want your life. Some of your stories bring me a 36 year old single male to tears. Some of them make me laugh out loud. All of them make me want to keep reading and find out what happens next.
For a guy who has gone through a couple of divorces and raised a loving, caring, smart and oh so talented daughter, I say you have it pretty good. I can only assume that the other reviews of this book belong to those of friends and family as this book is at best a tedious read and at worse complete rubbish. To call it funny is an insult to comedy writing. There are no funny bits only a tiresome story about his relationship with his young daughter and his love of dirty cocktails.
