Whether these idols model the product or personally use it, they have the influential power to sell out whatever item it may be! BamBam defends Lisa after she was targeted in Racist and Hateful attack. Jennie stands up to protect Lisa, after cruel people insult and shame her. Hmm, isn't male fans more apathetic whether their bias dating or not? Or maybe it's just me. Why would fangirls care about the girls they stan dating Hyuna's fanbase is female.
With the overt sexualization of her image the company has carved for her, you'd think it would be more male. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. It's sort of sad though, that if a woman seems overwhelmingly empowering sexually, it turns men off.

I still love you both but I'm a female So not much fandom drama or investment in the group beyond their music to begin with. I always found it pleasantly surprising that he came in 4th overall on The Unit while openly in a relationship. Hwasa outright said she dated some dude for two years recently and nobody cared.
It helps that Mamamoo fans are overwhelmingly female and same sex fans seem to be generally supportive of their idols dating, since their fan relationship tends not to be that weird one sided sexual fandom. I feel like there's a difference between publicly dating and revealing to the public that you have secretly dated in the past. Like the former member of Spica who said on broadcast that she currently has a boyfriend, not sure if someone has "outed" themselves in that way before. Do you think the response would have been the same if Hwasa had said she's been dating him for two years and was still in the relationship?
Yeah the majority of idols who have been in the industry for a few years will admit they've dated in the past, but of course when asked if they're dating now they'll say no, mainly because it would just be incredibly hard to believe an idol hasn't dated at all once they've been in the game for a couple of years. A good example would be Super Junior who had crazy fans, but even then the members would admit they've dated someone, back then Heechul would often tell stories about their breakups and such. In Hwasa's situation, it would depend if he were a celebrity or not.

I still think that Moo Moos would be chill. Mamamoo already don't follow idol norms, so it wouldn't really be a huge shock. I think most of their fans would honestly be happy for the girls. They're like the big sister you wanna see get married lol. Hwasa and wheein maybe. I get the feeling there'd be some backlash if moonsun were revealed to be dating someone other than each other.

Unlike most idol group, Mamamoo fans mostly coming from 's age group. So basically, Mamamoo from the get go already established an older age group fanbase. An age that didn't care about their artist dating life. Maybe all of shinee, and I think xiumin. Xiumin is the oldest member and his fans are the least psychotic out of all other exo members, majority of his fans want him to date cause hes getting older lmao.
Given how Minseok tends to be so private about his personal life, there's even people jokingly saying that he's probably already married and with kids lol. And they tossed cups of drinks on her car. I think at least Minho and Taemin will still bring out some scary fuckers. I normally wouldn't think anyone would care if Onew and Key were dating other people lol , but I get the feeling some fans would be ugly toward them, too, but for different reasons. Onew has a small, concentrated group of crazy fans. The bigger issue would be Taemin. With the older fans wanting to protect him and the newer, younger ones getting jealous, it would be a shitshow.
He was dating a non-celebrity several years ago though and the fandom seemed okay with it, but that before he went solo and the influx of new fans. I think Key could date with minimal drama. Also, let's not forget the massive meltdown when Jonghyun dated Shin Sekyung. I want to believe the fandom learned from that, but I'm not confident. I think Key gets a lot of shit for regular things, so I can sense there being a freak out for those who have made up their minds about his sexuality.
Even as a bisexual fan, and as much as I want someone to come out, I think it would be a bad idea to come out while the group is still active and also before military duty. Coming out is hard enough for ordinary people, and that's without being in the media spotlight. If someone like Key were to come out, I would be genuinely worried for his mental health afterwards with the amount of shit he would get from homophobic fans. I tend to err on the side of "everyone's straight until they say otherwise", so this is not meant to imply that I think Key is gay or bi, I'm just using him as an example.
If he dated a guy, it would be huge news, it wouldn't stay within the fandom. But if he dated a girl, I think the fandom would shrug it off and so it wouldn't get much reaction from the public. I stepped away from the fandom during Onew's scandal, but prior to that the party line was that Key is straight until he says otherwise and pushing the issue before he serves is a really bad idea. Are people not respecting that anymore? I feel like his biggest issue would have been Jongkey shippers, which aren't really a problem anymore unfortunately.
For a moment I thought you meant it like Onew and Key dating each other and I was kind of confused haha. Shawols would do some scary shit if they found out Taemin dated someone other than the 2 girls he "dated" in elementary school. There will definitely be outrage, esp. The issues in the fandom when SHINee dated happened years ago.
When a group is young and at the height of their popularity, that's when all that crazy shit happens. For long-time fans especially older ones , considering what SHINee has been through, seeing them date wouldn't be a big deal.

In fact, I think a lot of fans would be happy seeing them having happiness in their personal lives. Or maybe I'm being way too optimistic: I agree though that Taemin might get more of a crazed fan reaction if he dated since he is the youngest and is pretty popular as a soloist right now. Seungri, I mean he got away with essentially admitting those sex stories about him were true so Depends on who they are, who they date, and how they handle it.
Older idols are more likely to get away with dating than younger ones, partly because it's unrealistic to expect them not to date and because usually by that time their fans aren't as crazy as they are at the peak of popularity. Some lesser groups might have tepid reactions because they're more likely to have chill fans in general than popular groups. Lesser celebs can be a problem because fans can accuse them of using their idol for a popularity boost if they don't like them. Sometimes I think fans prefer idols dating non-celebs, though problems arise because not all of them want to keep their relationships secret.
This is why you usually hear the "we're not mad because they're dating, but for x and x Lovestagrams get the most heat. Timing can be a huge issue, especially since dating scandals get broken a lot around promotional periods. Basically, don't toy around with the fans or make the group have to pay because of your dating scandal.
This is usually why some responses to dating get so bad, otherwise the fans either decide to leave or will calm down on their own. Often times when idol dating news is getting very negative reactions EDIT: There are a lot more of ridiculous reactions to scandals but most are due to how Kpop is marketed and as time passes, the unreasonable tend to move out and the idols get support back.
There are cases when someone gets dating scandal and it completely goes blown up and former fans become antis. In most of cases again, not all cases are same , there are reasons, context and logic behind it. I may not agree with it all the time, but there are often deeper issues. That's always been such a bullshit excuse though, those fans are delusional and entitled thinking the idols owe them shit just because they throw money at them.
They shouldn't have to be discreet about dating, and getting mad at them "making the group pay" means you're part of the problem. Highlight includes the anecdote about donating blood in her name jesus fucking christ. She is after all, the older of the couple, i'd assume she makes all the decisions in this relationship.

Real talk though this is probably what fucked Taeyeon up the most, it's one thing getting hate and death threats from antis, another thing to have supposed fans act like this. She turned into a recluse and even in interviews to this day she talks about how with everything she does she's scared of people misunderstanding or reading into things that aren't there. It is not a reasonable justification for sure. But there are cases when it makes more sense then usual. The entitlement is clear as day.
Is the hate they got reasonable when the only thing they MIGHT have done is a few hidden messages on instagram? A normal fan would realise their fave don't owe them shit and can post whatever they want and can be as open or as secretive as they want, it's none of their business. I did not say ALL of demanding fans are in the right. What I said is there are reasons, contexts and explanations behind when devoted fans turn around. Baekhyun Taeyeon are still beloved at large by fandom and public, because they did not lie several times and put their teammates into tons of mess.
Seriously though, who do all the people who blame the fans for leaving the fandom think they are? It's not like they have any more obligations towards the idol than the idol has towards them. Ffs fans leave for even more ridiculous reasons: I'm not defending the minority who writes death threats on idols' Instagram, those are But those who throw shade on fansites for closing because of dating rumours, need to understand that fansites don't get paid to do this and they are also free to quit anytime they want.
Nobody cares if people leave the fandom, it's the reason - If you're that delusional and entitled that you think the idols owe you this shit you really shouldn't be a fan of anyone in the first place.
