We are one of the largest outfitters in the state. We stock over canoes and kayaks. You can demo boats right on the water and see what you like. No fires are allowed, and you have to bring in treated water and take out all trash at the buggy and primitive Hickory Hill, Yankee Paradise and Brickhill Bluff campsites. Hickory and Yankee Paradise are situated in the center of Cumberland Island, but Brickhill Bluff is a favorite spot for dolphin and manatee watchers.
Things to do in Milledgeville
Camping at mile long Sapelo Island also requires a ferry trip, but it's well worth the minute ride. Managed by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, the island is home to Cabretta Campground with overnight tent campsites that can accommodate 15 to 25 people. The sites are nestled amidst live oaks and feature spectacular ocean views and easy beach access.
Grills, water and restrooms with hot showers are on-site. Campers can also tour the 16,acre barrier island to visit a restored lighthouse, a visitor's center and the historic Reynolds Mansion.

Although not direct oceanfront camping, other areas near the coast offer campgrounds in close proximity to roadways, ferry docks, the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway and access to the shore and barrier island beaches by private boat. Crooked River State Park in St. Mary's has acres with 62 partial hook-up RV and tent sites as well as 11 cottages. A dump station, swimming pool, boat ramp, dock, nature center and hiking trails complete the campground's amenities.

Cities, such as Savannah, Richmond Hill and Brunswick, offer inland campgrounds a five- to mile drive to oceanfront beaches. Skidaway Island State Park near Savannah borders the Intracoastal Waterway and offers 90 RV, tent and pioneer campsites surrounded by maritime forest and wetlands.
