I even set my fire team join option to public hoping anyone would join but nothing. Add matchmaking not everyone has a million ps4 friends. Same for me except I have a Ps4.
Matchmaking for weekly strike would be really good too. The grouping mechanics need polishing. Exactly what I was thinking.

Maybe then I can at least enjoy the expansions since I have already purchased them anyway, I unfortunately pre-ordered the limited edition. I paid euros for this and I am already kind of over it while my "guardian" is still level At least when you play with other people it's enjoyable if not repetitive. Almost no one I know has bought a PS4 or any gen. The social interaction options in this game are non-existent too anyway. The public fireteam option is completely useless and I even tried to invite randoms to join me through the tower or the planet exploration which I have never done again in any game you can guess the ignore rate of course though.
The only part of the game I have fun with is strikes, although they are very repetitive. I don't care if Bungie thinks it is smart to force you to find gaming friends with the same platform, hour schedule and a copy of Destiny in order to be able to play.
Let's face it, solo play is pretty terrible in Destiny. Bungie stated you can play the game solo if you want.

That was a clear borderline lie to not lose any pre-order customers. Yes you can and that's even excepting raids, but let's not get into that discussion , but it is is dull, empty and simply not fun at all. There's no match making for nightfall,weekly heroic, or daily. For those you need to go to the looking for group board to group up with people.

I have done none of the daily or weekly raids let alone nightfall or heroic. I would be utterly embarrassed to try getting a group together; why are there no random groupings where new players can get in with veterans or at minimum random groups of new to raid players that can work through them at their own pace, just like PVP has. Leave an option in to create a private group for those in raid groups or friends online that want to play together. This seems like a huge flaw; or is it just me thinking this? Well you can create a fireteam amd invite friends off your friends list. Add me psn crutchshifter 27 Hunter.
Not home for another hour, was just curious what I have been doing wrong. I just don't play enough to build up a friends list in the game; nor do I want to have to schedule play time. Outside activates come first; so I never really know when I can play, until I play. I guess it is PVP only for me. Thank you for the responses. Why would you be "embarassed" to get a group together?

The board is pretty active, so you don't really need to schedule anything. I can usually find a group for raids and nightfalls within 5 minutes.
The reason why automatic matchmaking is a bad idea IMO is that the minimum level requirement for stuff like the Weekly, Nightfall, and Raid is like levels below the recommended level. If you were a level 30 going into a randomly matched Nightfall, there's a chance that you'd end up with two 27s and be forced to carry them the whole way through, or just end up wiping. Same with the raid or most of the other end-game content.
